    Dress Code Policy

    Clubhouse

    DRESS CODE POLICY

    The intent of our dress code at Scarboro Golf & Country Club is to ensure a decorum and atmosphere consistent with a traditional and private golf and country club. The references to unacceptable attire are not meant to be all inclusive in this regard. All clothing worn on premises must respect the desired atmosphere.

    IN OR AROUND THE CLUBHOUSE

    All clothing must be neat and presentable. It must not be torn, frayed, ripped, tattered, faded, dirty, or cut-off and pants must be worn snugly at the waist or above the hips. All logos are required to be understated and in good taste. Footwear is to be worn at all times.

    Fashion hats, golf related headwear, and cultural or religious headwear is permitted around the Clubhouse. Only fashion hats (not including caps or visors) and cultural or religious headwear, may be worn in the Clubhouse. Headwear may not be worn backwards or sideways anywhere on the Club property.

    Business, smart, casual dress and attire that is acceptable on the golf course is acceptable in the Scarboro Room and on the verandah.

    Appropriate denim pants are acceptable in the Scarboro Room, meeting rooms, on the Verandah, and in transit to the locker rooms and lounges.

    Children aged 12 and over shall dress in accordance with the adult regulations. Children under the age of 12 must wear neat and tidy clothes.

    IN THE PERFORMANCE CENTRE

    Permitted Performance Centre attire includes ‘On the Golf Course’ attire (as noted above) as well as appropriate denim pants.

    Prohibited Performance Centre attire includes calf or gymnasium type socks, sweat pants, tennis socks and shorts, cargo pants or shorts, gym type shorts, denim, rugger type pants, gym and yoga attire, tank tops, crop tops (no bare midriff), tee shirts and any clothing bearing large, non-golf related logo(s).

    DINING ROOMS (BALTIMORE ROOM AND BALTUSROL ROOM)
    Smart, casual attire is acceptable, except when a specific event states that alternative attire is required or permitted.

    BANQUETS, WEDDINGS, MEETINGS AND CONFERENCES
    The Club’s Dress Code must be adhered to for all private functions.

    PROHIBITED ATTIRE
    Prohibited Clubhouse attire includes sweatpants, tennis shorts, ski pants, cargo pants or shorts, gym type shorts, rugger type pants, gym and yoga attire, crop tops (no bare midriff), and tee shirts.

    Shirts are to be tucked in neatly at all times unless designed to be worn outside.

    ON THE GOLF COURSE

    Permitted golf course attire includes golf skirts or Bermuda length shorts (no shorter than mid-thigh), golf slacks, knickers or Capri pants. Socks must be knee-high, French cuff, or sockettes.

    Appropriate golf shirt (collar, crew neck, mock collar, or turtleneck). A sleeveless shirt must have a collar. Shirts are to be tucked in neatly at all times unless designed to be worn outside. In this case, tailored shirts must be fitted below the hips to not allow a bare midriff during a swing.

    PROHIBITED ATTIRE

    Prohibited golf course attire includes calf or gymnasium type socks, sweat pants, tennis socks and shorts, cargo pants or shorts, gym type shorts, denim, rugger type pants, gym and yoga attire, tank tops, crop tops (no bare midriff), tee shirts and any clothing bearing large, non-golf related logo(s).

    FOOTWEAR

    Appropriate footwear must be worn on Club premises at all times. Soft spikes only (no metal) are permitted on Club property. Appropriate golf sandals are permitted on the golf course with socks optional.

    All of the above regulations with respect to attire at the Club have been approved by the Board of Directors. Members should direct all complaints concerning dress code violations to a member of the management personnel. Scarboro Golf reserves the right to refuse service and access to the Club, Course, and Clubhouse if the dress code is not met. Management and staff have been instructed to strictly enforce these regulations.

    Dining & Events

    DINING ROOMS (BALTUSROL ROOM AND BALTIMORE ROOM)

    Smart, casual attire is acceptable, except when a specific event states that jacket and/or tie must be worn.

    EVENTS

    The Club’s Dress Code must be adhered to for all private functions.

    WOMEN

    Permitted women’s Clubhouse attire includes dress slacks, denim pants, skirts, kilts, turtlenecks, sweaters, curling outfits, fashion hats (not including caps) or visors.

    Prohibited women’s Clubhouse attire includes sweat pants, tennis shorts, cargo pants or shorts, gym type shorts, rugger type pants, stirrup pants, spandex pants and tops, leggings, tank tops, low scoop neck shirts, crop tops (no bare midriff) and tee shirts.

    MEN

    Permitted men’s Clubhouse attire includes golf and curling attire, dress and business casual slacks and shirts, turtlenecks, sweaters and denim pants.

    Prohibited men’s Clubhouse attire includes sweat pants, tennis shorts, ski pants, cargo pants or shorts, gym type shorts, rugger type pants, tee shirts and hats (with the exception of cultural or religious headgear). Shirts are to be tucked in neatly at all times, unless they are designed to be worn outside.

    SCARBORO GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE IF THE DRESS CODE IS NOT MET.

    ENFORCEMENT: ALL OF THE AB0VE REGULATIONS WITH RESPECT TO ATTIRE IN THE CLUBHOUSE HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS. MANAGEMENT AND STAFF HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO STRICTLY ENFORCE THESE REGULATIONS.

    Prohibited women’s golf course attire includes calf or gymnasium type socks, tennis, cargo pants, cargo shorts, gym type shorts, denim, rugger type pants, tank tops, low scoop necked shirts, tee shirts, crop-tops (no bare midriff), and any clothing bearing large non-golf related logo(s).

    MEN

    Permitted men’s golf course attire includes golf slacks or Bermuda length shorts (no shorter than 3” above the knee). Socks must be knee-high, French cuff or sockettes. Appropriate golf shirt (collar, mock collar or turtleneck). Shirts are to be tucked in neatly at all times, unless they are designed to be worn outside.
